bucket hats
Here’s a pic of my Namaste Zuma knitting bag. This one was taken with the flash on, but that’s what the color looks like in real life. Isn’t it great? The color is called Eggplant.
I also got a buddy case in Peacock. The magnet is kind of weak but it is a better home for [...]

FO: Rusted Root
My first adult-sized garment! This is Rusted Root from Zephyr Style.
yarn: 3 skeins of Cascade 220
size: small=my gauge was weird so I had to start over and make a smaller size. The size small turned out to be about a size 8.
needles: 4 and 6
I started this back when E-chan was born but didn’t end [...]

more stripey slippers
We had quite a few pairs of these slippers kicking around the house (although none that fit my feet!), but these were for my brother and SIL. Aren’t they cute together? I hope they forgave me for sending their Christmas presents in February. herm. You can find the pattern here at Little Turtle Knits. I [...]

last minute
Finished just in time for Christmas–baby booties to go along with the hat I knit back in November:
M, as always with her pens and paper:
A new trick to show off:
I’m ready for 2009! Well, not ready of course but you know what I mean. I’m looking forward to the new year and hope everyone else [...]

wip: rusted root
This is slow going, but it has started to resemble a sweater. I had to frog a whole ball of yarn (that’s what I get for skipping a gauge swatch) but I’m about 1/3 done now. My gauge is pretty variable depending on the day. I’m making a size small which should hopefully translate to [...]

free yarn
Remember this project? Well I never did progress any further than I had when this picture was taken. I knew deep down this would never ever get finished so it’s long gone–frogged. Anyone want the yarn? I’ll send it to the first person who comments that they want it. Free shipping, free yarn! It is [...]

newborn knitting
Pictures of newborn knitting, as promised! The yarn is Galenas Merino in O’Neil by Three Irish Girls, 3 skeins, plus 3 skeins of Cascade Eco in some sort of natural color. I mostly used size 7s, also size 4 and 5s for the ribbing. The blanket is on huge needles because it’s double stranded–I forget [...]

happy easter
Oh my god this creature is so CUTE! Total PITA to knit and sew on all those little parts but it is just darling. Dd gets mad when I turn it ino the egg shape so it mostly hangs around as a chicken. It makes a great hand puppet.
I found some bamboo fiberfill at JoAnn’s [...]

an FO and more stuff
After procrastinating for MONTHS, I finally bit the bullet and ordered a zipper for dd’s tomten. Just in time since this trip to Colorado is probably the most use it will see in it’s lifetime (unless I have another girl). Well it wouldn’t be too bad on a little boy, I guess. First of all, [...]

groceries
Last week’s grocery bill was a little over $160. We ate out for lunch one day because one of my appointments ran late (grrr for people with no concept of time), but other than that everything was consumed at home! Good think K works close to the apt, I can never seem to make his [...]
