my desks

06Jul09

I found a few more funny photos along with the GMO grown sunflower. Here I am being my crafty little self at about 3? years old. Awww I wish I still had that desk for M, although E-chan’s fingers would probably get slammed with that lid. Or possibly her head. You should see the set up we have now with our kitchen table–this little monkey is a climber! The first few times I found her on top of the table was pretty hilarious, but now it’s not so funny. We have pulled all the chairs away and tilted them on their sides, and M has to sit up at the table in a high chair so E-chan won’t climb up and bother her. It’s crazy. You can only keep her busy by throwing food in her general direction for so long before she wants to crawl up to see what her big sister is doing.

Here I am at about 4 or 5 years old. Making something out of origami, I suppose. I still have all my books so sometimes M and I make stuff. Funnily enough we still have that Easter basket and it gets pulled out every Easter when we are in WA. The head is about to fall off, though. That brown plush thing on the desk was my ET doll! I still have a little fake leather one filled with sand, but I’ll leave that one for another day.

I guess I still have a tiny desk, with only slightly heavier machinery. It’s a lot messier now because I think I took this last year. Craft shit multiplies like rabbits, doncha know. How nice of my husband not to say anything, even though he has to sometimes weave around the towering piles of fabric to get to his computer desk. Someday I will have my own craft room with SHELVES. Ooooo.

  1. Great post! My craft room is now cross pollinating and creating new crafts. But your phrase better :)

I love the desks! We’re lucky that our table is counter height so little one can’t get up the chairs (yet). I’ve heard of people using babywearing wraps to tie together dining room chairs to keep them from being pulled out. But yeah every other climbable surface (stools, etc) are flipped on their sides. Geez!

Love the flashback photos, you are a cutie and look so proud. I’m about to go on ebay to find that desk!

  4. such cute photos! I sort of remember those kinds of desks. And it’s always fun to look at someone else’s crafting area. Mine is expanding into a fairly large corner of the living room right now!

  5. Liane, the photos of you are adorable! I can see the grown-up you in them too. I remember having a similar desk — so fun!
