So here we are! I’m trying out wordpress to see if I like it or not. So far it is pretty fancy! I have been spending most of my time trying to sort through things and put stuff in boxes. I had a living room full of stuff that I had intentions of selling, but yesterday I had an epiphany and just decided to donate ALL OF IT. How liberating. Now the crap is gone and I can concentrate on other things. I did make $260 off my online garage saling, so I think that is pretty good for stuff I don’t need anymore. The only thing I am stuck with is the Christmas Tree. Both Value Villages on 99 rejected it so I guess we are taking it to CA with us. At least we’ll be ready for Christmas! K did most of the work on the office and now it is all packed up and ready. I don’t have a before picture, but it was pretty bad. Now everything is all stacked up and tidy:

Even the closet is empty. Woo hoo. Now I am faced with this:

Guess what all that is? Oh yes, the culmination of 3 years of various hobbies, among which include beading, hemp necklace macrame, scrapbooking (very shortlived), yarn, fabric, origami, decoupage, and various abandoned sewing projects. Missing are my sewing machine (in the shop), and two big boxes of knitting and sewing books. I suppose it all looks worse than it actually is… The thing is, I can’t bear to part with any of it. Should I set a limit on how many boxes total? How many boxes of fabric is a normal person allotted, anyway? Of course, looking at all this stuff is really motivating me to finish up loose ends and not buy anything unless I have a purpose for it. Wow, novel idea, Liane.

Ok, more on the packing fun later.

  1. Everytime my hubby gets upset at the number of craft boxes I have, I remind him if I were to give it all away I would a) be wasting money and b) just buy it all again. So we might as well move it! I have four large rubbermaid tubs full of fabric if that helps :)

I’ve been trying to only buy things with a purpose too. Unfortunately I have grander plans than I have time.. so everything has a purpose.. just no time to do it all in!
